Aloft Chicago Downtown River North

i work as a night auditor in another major US city, so i respect hotel workers. also can tell when other hotel workers are bad or good or, average really. the workers here are 100% great, i had a good & efficient time here. night auditors here? incredible. i gotta stick with my gang, but still. asked for a box fan to sleep with. they found one & brought it to my room. readily helped me get new linens & towels when requested. helped describe charges to me from the lobby & gave me good insight into a cocktail bar nearby. the workers when we checked in were also great. there is a man that wears glasses that was working when we checked in & checked us in on 10/23 & he is incredible. amazing attitude & i felt like my own abilities & ability to make the guest feel immediately at home as a hotel front desk agent paled in comparison. give everyone staff agent here kudos. it aint easy to work in a major downtown hotel as a front desk agent. i know what its like when a guest asks for a box fan at 1 a.m. when you finally are just about to go on break after you had a busy night & youre like "i FINALLY can eat" but nah. youre the only one there. stay here because of the staff. i had an amazing view of river north all the way to the sears tower. i sleep thru sirens since i live in a downtown area already with sirens enjoyed strolling to the Riverwalk just 5 minutes away. it was nice to do that at 11pm and safe. multiple food options around, & across the street too, & a bodega. if there was an apartment here id pay a good amount just for the location. 3 minute walk if that to the nearest subway station. or a 10-15 min walk to get across the river & close to millennium park and the METRA station. youre close to everything! great stay

I received an upgrade thanks to my status, but I have to say I wasn't completely wowed by it—there were still traces of the previous party lingering in the room. On the bright side, the view was lovely, so I can't complain too much about that. Ava at check-in was fantastic; she was incredibly kind and made me feel very welcome. Honestly, the hospitality alone is a reason for me to come back!

Efficient and quant space. I miss the familiar Aloft layout. Room: nice and adequate. Service: very good. I had a great check in experience - genuine staff who truly cared made a huge difference after a long travel day. Location: GOOD. Yes, I would come back!

Perfect location and incredible views from the room. The staff was super nice and the restaurant was really good and the place to be. It could use some attention and love with cleaning though - nothing terrible, just some bed stains, dust, etc that I wasn't expecting. I would stay again though.

If you're looking for a decent standard of accommodation and not fussed for fancy then you can't go wrong with Aloft. The bedrooms are spacious and clean, bed was very comfy and facing a view of the city. The bathroom has a nice big shower and an open area vanity space, a sliding door for privacy for the loo. The tea/coffee making option is pretty dire, especially if you are a big tea drinker like me so you will want to go out / downstairs to Beatrix for a decent beverage. The TV in the room has netflix and was very easy to log in. My only mark down is the noise, I had to come on a Saturday and along with the sirens and street noise it didn't get quiet until about 2am which didn't really help with my jetlag. I can't blame the hotel as it's location is very central but if you need a quiet night I would select somewhere else.

We stayed there for three nights and we love the location very much. The fact that quite expensive compared to standard, I think overall you’re quite satisfied with what we got. They may be able to improve it as the lights. It is really dark inside the whole facility. For your info come the front desk your luggage after you check out time. A female staff is really friendly and she even said they can her suitcase as long as we want.

The staff here are phenomenal and super friendly; every single one I encountered! Hotel is modern and clean. Price was really good but then again it's December. It's definitely a bit noisy but if you're looking for a quiet stay in Chicago, probably avoid this entire neighborhood haha. Location is super convenient too.

One of the best brunch experiences!! Be sure to ask for vouchers when you get to the front desk to check in we got two free complementary cocktails up to $15 that night we checked in plus we had a $20 breakfast voucher which did not suck. Definitely will be back would highly recommend this place front desk staff was very friendly and accommodating!
